What a rin is said to be
Lal Kitab describes certain positions as evidence of a rin - a debt carried into this life, most often framed as owed to ancestors, but also to the mother, to daughters, to the poor, or to other categories depending on the position. The debt is read as the reason a particular area of life meets resistance that the rest of the chart does not explain.
Why this is the system's most contested idea
It is a strong claim about causation - that a present difficulty is the settlement of a specific inherited obligation - and it is not derivable from anything observational. It is also the part of Lal Kitab that carries the most weight commercially, because a diagnosed debt implies a prescribed remedy. Both things are true at once: it is central to the tradition, and it is where the tradition is most often used to sell.
How to read a rin claim you are given
Ask which position it was read from, and check that position exists in your chart. A rin diagnosed without reference to a specific placement is not a Lal Kitab reading at all. And treat any reading that arrives already attached to a purchase with the scepticism you would apply to any other diagnosis sold with its own cure.
